Everybody is searching for keys in their drawers…keys that are opening doors to understanding and assimilation, two major puppets guided by the master of all subliminal needs, the society based on comsumerism. This virus has infected any root of art, so the last trick for an artist is to lock up himself inside himself. Here is where I found out everything about everything. I’m lost in grey. I cannot find my color. This is my private empty train, this is the place where I’ve once lost all my fate, hope and my love.

If you want to know what we are playing on this record, the short presentation below will help you as much as we will say that we don’t know what we are playing.

In the contemporary human understanding Nightpray seems to play avantgarde dark rock.

Enjoy this dark movie soundtrack, composed and arranged under the baton of Costin Chioreanu (guitar), together with his wicked gang formed of Clandestine (bass- Dodheimsgard) , Mr.S – (vocals and guitar – Satanochio, Extinction Algorithm) Napalm (drums – Cap De Craniu, H8), Ana (piano and ambients -Parachute Pulse), Marius Costache (noise, field recording – Discordless).  Mixed and Mastered by Marius Costache.

The Asiluum collective is very proud to present you the official release of a soundtrack that will accompany John U. Abrahamson’s exhibition, “Flesh And Blood“.

The creators of the soundrack that  completes the exhibition are the people behind Asiluum,  Costin Chioreanu – Guitars (Nightpray) and Marius Costache – Ambients, Field Recordings, Production (Discordless).

This exhibition will take place in Bert Green Fine Art, Los Angeles, between March 10th and April 18th.

“Flesh and Blood” will showcase 30 paintings and will be an installation work comprised also of 15 years of the artist’s journals (30-220pg each) opened on a table for viewers to destroy.  Attached to the table will be a metal structure that supports a life size prone human form hovering 4 feet above the journals comprised of suspended bottles of  John U. Abrahmason’s flesh and blood approx 200 vials in all.

The creators of the soundrack that will complete the exhibition are the people behind Asiluum, Costin Chioreanu – Guitars (Nightpray) and Marius Costache – Ambients, Field Recordings, Production (Discordless).

This soundtrack will also be available free for download starting March 10th 2010 alongside a virtual exhibition on Asiluum.com aswell.

“I have been working with an unbelievably creative group from Bucharest, Romania in conjunction with “Flesh and Blood.”  They have put together a soundtrack that creates in sound what I am trying to do with paint.  I will be featuring their work on the night of the opening.  They have been sending samples over the last 6 months or so but the latest sample is breath taking in it’s portrayal of my work.  Color me spent from listening!  I can’t wait to share!”

Costin Chioreanu:

“I was shocked when I find out from Marius that John contacted us through Asiluum for a collaboration. Now I’m shocked that we really did this, and he will really use
it during his magnific exhibition. I like very much his themes and I consider this a huge opportunity to prove worldwide that music is not dead and that artistic relationships have not borders. “

“Nightpray este tot munca lui Costin Chioreanu, doar că de data asta el e în faţa noastră singur-singurel. Doar câţiva prieteni l-au ajutat din Dodheimsgard, Discordless şi din formaţia avant-black Satanochio. După părerea mea este follow-up la nu-prea-încântătorul Subway Night Orchestra – şi este genial. Ca şi Discordless -”148 Light Years”, şi asta e un material experimental al naibii de sinistru, cu o atmosferă de cimitir cosmic. Cu toate acestea, sunetul e mult mai uşor decât Discordless, chiar dacă nu duce lipsă de surprize. Mucegaiul e dezlipit de pe pereţii pivniţei prin rezonanţa dată de otrava dulce compusă din nuanţele unui shoegaze malformat şi temele post-rock. Un disc incredibil, cu sunete care te lasă fără suflare. Totul este trist şi frumos, o goană după durere, prin totul adânc şi umed, prin circumvoluţiunile creierului tău. Te ia până te împrăştii-n mizerie şi te face să-ţi revizuieşti viaţa.”

Extinction Algorithm – Extinction Algorithm

“Favoritul personal. Omul din spatele trupei Satanochio, Mr. S a creat acest album, cu o singură bucată de chitară. Un material care dă drumul la o atmosferă cumplită/fără dumnezeu, cu multe disonante, înnorat şi cu malformaţii înspăimântătoare, melodii hipnotice, scârţâituri care îţi taie în măduvă, turuiri care semnalează renunţarea la orice speranţă. Urlet de moarte tuşind metal topit, slujbă funerară de cameră experimentală, care te trage în adâncurile infinitului, care întoarce mintea în sine şi face ca irisul să-şi piardă culoarea. Suicid, orfan, amar, sociopat – şi cu toate acestea rămâne muzical şi rămâne magic. Este un disc foarte greu, criminal. Dacă vă place starea pe care încerc să transmit, merită _investite_ cele 8 euro care include taxele poştale, jewelcase, şi un poster.”

The first album released by Asiluum is “Nightpray – Five Hours Before and Sometimes After”, a project maintained by Costin Chioreanu with help from members of Dodheimsgard, Discordless and Satanochio.
Nightpray is somewhat the follow up to the “Subway Night Orchestra” project but with a more ambiental and dark approach.
